EFB 555 Chemical Ecology in Vertebrates (3 credit hours) A survey of chemical interactions within and among species of fish, amphibia, reptiles, birds and mammals, including humans. Signal production, sensory processes, plant-animal interactions, practical applications of chemical ecology, and effects of global and local change on chemical ecology processes. Spring.
Prerequisites: One semester of organic chemistry and at least two of the following: General ecology, animal behavior, introduction to chemical ecology, and a course in vertebrate biology.
