Learning Community Retreat
Accepted Undergraduate Students

As a part of the ESF First Year Experience program, you will be attending a retreat to a local Experiential Learning Center settled in a beautiful outdoor surrounding. While there, you will participate in high and low ropes team building initiatives, get to know your peers and faculty, make new friends and much more! The retreat will be held on two consecutive Saturdays in September. The group will be divided as follows.

Below is a sample agenda of what the day will look like. you will hear more about this retreat when you arrive in the fall, but take a few minutes to review the suggested things to bring so that you are prepared.

7:00am - Continental Breakfast ( in Dining Halls)
8:00am - Buses leave ESF
9:30am - 12:00 p.m. – Ropes Course Rotation #1
12pm - 1:00pm -Lunch

1:00pm - 3:30pm - Ropes Course Rotation #2
3:30pm - 6:00pm – Ropes Course Rotation #3

6:00pm - 7:00pm – Dinner

7:00pm - 7:45pm - Academic/Community Specific Time

7:45pm - 10:30pm - Evening Activities

10:30pm - Buses Depart for ESF

11:00pm - Late Night Insomniac Event (Planned by Insomniacs and the other half of the first-year class)

 

Are you ready? You are if you have thought about the following things:

What to Bring

  • Comfortable clothes and shoes—we will be doing a ropes course so bring clothes that you do not mind getting dirty, as well as clothes for chillier weather.
  • Rain Gear/Extra Clothing—programs are held rain, shine, or snow!
  • Water bottle - This is very important!
  • Meals will be provided off of your meal plan. If you want to bring a snack along, that's up to you!
  • Notebook and Pen
  • All toiletries, medications, bug spray, etc. that you will need for the day.
