Visiting SUNY-ESF
High School Student Opportunities

Reservations are strongly encouraged for all campus visitations and campus tours.

College Information Sessions

College Information Sessions are intended for high school students who have not yet applied for admission. If you are a high school student who has applied or been admitted to SUNY-ESF or are a transfer student, please call the Admissions Office at 315-470-6600 to arrange for a campus visit.

Staff members from the Admissions Office meet with small groups of high school students and their families to provide information on academic programs, campus life, admissions, and financial aid. There also will be time to answer any questions visitors have about the college and its programs. The program will conclude with a campus tour led by an ESF Student Ambassador.

Please note that college information session tours do not include the residence halls. Please register for your selected visitation program on-line by clicking the appropriate link to the right. Contact the Admissions Office at 315-470-6600 if you have any questions about these programs.

Landscape Architecture Portfolio Day

Portfolio Day is an opportunity to visit ESF's campus to meet with Landscape Architecture faculty and students, find out what a career in Landscape Architecture is all about, and get some personalized pointers on how to best present your creative work as part of your application to university level design or visual arts programs. It's ok if you do not have a portfolio! Part of the purpose of this program is to see if you might need a portfolio for the college program you might be interested in and then how you can put together the best presentation for your needs. Come for any or all of the sessions.

Information Meetings by Appointment

If you are unable to attend a College Information Session or Open House you can schedule an individual visit, including a campus tour and meeting with a member of the Admissions staff between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. These meetings provide the same information as our group visitation programs. They are not formal interviews, which are not required or considered in the admission process. To schedule an individual visit call the Admissions Office at 315-470-6600.

Campus Tours by Appointment

Tours of the SUNY-ESF Syracuse campus, led by an ESF Student Ambassador, are offered Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. The tour is approximately one hour in length and includes stops at all the major academic and student life facilities.
