College Information Sessions – offered throughout the year

College Information Sessions at the Syracuse campus are intended for high school students who have not yet applied for admission. If you are a high school student who has applied or been admitted to SUNY-ESF or are a transfer student, please call the Admissions Office at 315-470-6600 to arrange for a campus visit.

Staff members from the Admissions Office meet with small groups of high school students and their families to provide information on academic programs, campus life, admissions, and financial aid. There also will be time to answer any questions visitors have about the college and its programs. The program will conclude with a campus tour led by an ESF Student Ambassador.  College Information Sessions conclude in approximately 2 hours.

Open Houses

  • Syracuse Campus Open House
SUNY-ESF's Open House program offers interested students and their families the opportunity to explore all facets of the college's curricula and student life. This event features presentations about the college's academic programs by SUNY-ESF faculty members and demonstrations of SUNY-ESF's specialized facilities for learning. SUNY-ESF Student Ambassador led tours of the SUNY-ESF campus also are available. In addition, visitors will hear from staff members in Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Affairs, and from representatives of Syracuse University's housing and dining services.  Depending on the number of sessions attended, Open House visitors are on campus for 3-6 hours (morning to mid-afternoon). The Syracuse Campus offers a fall Open House in October and a spring Open House in April. Please check the calendar on this page for dates and a link to register.

  • The Ranger School Open House
Located in the heart of the Adirondack Park, The Ranger School is the perfect place to learn the science and technology associated with forest and recreation management, or surveying. This Open House program will include presentations from faculty and staff on the unique academic and student life experiences, a campus tour, lunch in the dining hall and a mini-field experience. The Ranger School Open House is a full day event from morning to mid-afternoon. The Ranger School offers a fall Open House in October and a spring Open House in April.
