Club Sports, Intramurals & Recreation
ESF students can participate in a wide variety of intercollegiate sports clubs, intramural sports programs & recreational activities offered through Syracuse University (SU)tennis, volleyball, skiing, ice hockey, and many more!

The intercollegiate athletics program at ESF can trace its roots all the way back to 1912, when students organized a Forestry Club on campus that has sponsored an intercollegiate timber sports competition every year since.
Today, students can compete on several ESF intercollegiate athletic teams, including soccer, golf, cross country, timber sports (Woodsmen’s Team) and basketball, with more to be added in the future.

ESF Student Named Scholar Athlete
Woodsmen Host Lumberjack Roundup
The ESF Woodsmen's Team hosted the 8th Annual East Coast Lumberjack Roundup in Tully at the Tully Experiment Station March 23. Seven colleges fielded 24 teams for the competition. First-place in the men's division went to Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC), SUNY Cobleskill won the women's division and Alfred State finished first in the Jack-and-Jill competition. SUNY-ESF is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, which promotes quality athletic competition for small colleges and their student athletes. The USCAA holds national championship tournaments in nine sports.
