A&TS serves as ESF's liaison to the glassblowing services available at Syracuse University (see the description below). Individual projects are charged for the materials and labor components. To assure proper billing and distribution of charges, please see Dawn Thomas (124 Jahn. x6859) before contacting SU (or soon thereafter). In addition, A&TS maintains a supply of glass tubing formerly used by ESF's glassblower. See us for access to this tubing.
The Syracuse University Scientific Glassblowing Laboratory provides glassblowing services for the research purposes of the Chemistry Department. The lab is open Monday-Thursday and is located in room 0-204 in the Center for Science and Technology. The manager of the lab, Sally Prasch, can be reached by phone (443-3665) or e-mail (sprasch@syr.edu).
The glass lab is here to serve the needs of the research scientist by manufacturing and developing custom glass apparatuses built to specification. Repairs, modifications, design consultation and material resources are also available. ESF has the opportunity to utilize the expertise services of the Glassblowing Laboratory on a time-available basis.
