In 2014, we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the extinction of the passenger pigeon, as EFB Professor Robin Wall Kimmerer shares insights from indigenous environmental ethics on species conservation. Dr. Kimmerer is the Director of the ESF Center for Native Peoples and the Environment and author of Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants.
A reception will follow the lecture. In addition, Dr. Kimmerer will sign copies of her books after the talk; her books will be sold from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m. at the ESF Bookstore in the Gateway Center prior to her talk.
