Please join us as Dr. Kathy Licht, Associate Professor of Earth Sciences, Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), discusses the impact of Antarctic sea and glacial ice on global climate systems, in a joint presentation of the Women in Scientific and Environmental Professions (WiSE Professions) Speaker Series, Hydrology and Biogeochemistry Seminar, and the Environmental Scholars Program. Dr. Licht's research focuses on "understanding the history of the Antarctic ice sheet so we can better understand what causes it to advance and retreat and how that fits in with the global climate system." Dr. Licht earned IUPUI's School of Science Research Award (2014), and advises IUPUI's Geology Club. She holds a a BS, Natural Sciences, St. Norbert College, and a MS & PhD, Geological Sciences, University of Colorado, Boulder. Pay parking is available in Syracuse University's Irving Garage.
