WANTED: Industrial Hosts for NSF Sponsored Graduate Student Summer Internships
The State University of New
York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse, NY
seeks industrial partners to host and train Doctoral students in the areas
of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Sponsorship to be sought through the National
Science Foundation Division of Cross-Disciplinary Programs.

INDUSTRY PROVIDES 2-month
training internships in an industrial research laboratory setting.
Ideally you will expose graduate students to non-classical techniques in
cross-cutting areas of the Chemical and Biological Sciences. A letter supporting
this project will greatly strengthen its support with the NSF.

WE PROVIDE ESF faculty
participants, including seventeen science and engineering faculty,
whose collective expertise will provide the academic underpinning for the
training of some 50-60 PhD students over the progam's five year time frame.
Research areas include analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology,
plant molecular biology, cellulose chemistry, environmental chemistry,
microbiology, organic natural product chemistry, plant ultrastructural
studies and polymer chemistry.

graduate students to the interdisciplinary nature of modern industrial
research while developing technical, managerial and communicative skills
essential to continued professional growth.
