Welcome to the Nomura Research Group webpage!
We are investigating the synthesis and properties of eco-friendly, bio-based
materials. In particular, we are studying the synthesis and production of
polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) biodegradable polymers.
We take an
interdisciplinary approach to these studies, utilizing techniques from microbiology,
polymer chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology.
Our group is located at The
State University of New York – College of Environmental Science and Forestry
(SUNY-ESF) and we have a number of collaborations worldwide.
Our mission
is to produce eco-friendly and sustainable solutions for the production of value-added
materials.
