Dr. Nomura teaches the upper division Biochemistry series at SUNY-ESF. We are using Biochemistry written by Voet and Voet, 2011 4th Edition for both semesters. A brief description of the courses is listed below.
FCH530. Biochemistry I 3 credits
Topics discussed are: amino acids chemistry, protein structure, protein purification, enzyme kinetics, molecular
biology, DNA structure, DNA replication, DNA repair, transcription, and translation,
FCH532. Biochemistry II 3 credits
Topics discussed are: sugars, fatty acids, metabolism, glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, Entner-Doudoroff pathway, TCA cycle, fatty acid metabolism, oxidative phosphorylation, amino acid metabolism, purine and pyrimidine metabolism, and photosynthesis.
FCH797. Molecular metabolism 1 credit
In this graduate seminar course students present papers on current topics in metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, and other related topics.
