The stable isotope mass spectrometer is a ThermoFinnigan Delta XL Plus and is attached to a Costech Elemental Analyzer, a Thermosquest GC and a pyrolysis TC/EA We can analyze solid and liquid samples for the stable isotopes of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen and it is a core instrument of the Environmental Science Stable Isotope Laboratory (EaSSIL) at SUNY-ESF. The work in the lab is instrument intensive and we use a wide range of instruments. Our pride and joy is the stable isotope ratio mass spectrometer which was purchased through the NYSTAR initiative and is the main instrument of the Everyone in the lab gets to use this instrument on a weekly basis, running their own samples, and using it for method development. ![]() ![]() ![]()
