Marine Biogeochemistry

Assignments

Due Jan 26 9am:

1 page description of
"Biogeochemistry of chosen Ecosystem".

After Spring Break each student will present a topic on the biogeochemistry of a marine ecosystem of their choice. This will include a presentation (20 mins), followed by a discussion of the material that should include handouts for the class.

By Jan 26, you need to submit a 1 page outline and description of the ecosystem that you have chosen. Some examples are shown below. The topic cannot be one that is already on the syllabus, and if two students choose the same topic, the first one I receive gets that topic. The second student then has 24 hours to write a new topic, so it would be good to talk to your fellow students to mention what topic you are thinking about.

Examples include but use your imagination:

Biogeochemistry of Antarctica

Biogeochemistry of Arctic Ocean

Biogeochemistry of Methane Seeps

Biogeochemistry of the Mediterranean

Biogeochemistry of the Gulf of Mexico

Biogeochemistry of Marine Caves

Biogeochemistry of Pacific Atolls

Biogeochemistry of Deep Coral Reefs

Biogeochemistry of the Dry Tortugas

Biogeochemistry of Georges Banks

Biogeochemistry of Beaufort Sea

Biogeochemistry of Morro ridge

Biogeochemistry of the Sargasso Sea
