ESF Offers Course in Project Management Software
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Project managers, architects, engineers and other professionals can learn to use software designed to help organize and schedule the tasks that go into completing a major project.
A course sponsored this winter by the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) will teach participants how to use the project management software called Sure Trak Project Manager 2.0.
The course is designed for project managers, facilities managers, architects, engineering managers, schedulers, educators, supervisory personnel and those who need to organize schedules for complex projects.
The course will use activities primarily related to construction projects, but the concepts would apply to any business environment. Participants will learn to manage resources and costs, perform schedule calculations, create projects, set up calendars, create layouts for schedule presentations, and create project reports.
The course will provide participants with an overview of Sure Trak Project Manager 2.0 through a series of hands-on exercises supplemented by lectures. The course is designed for those who are new to Sure Trak, or who have been using the program for less than a year.
The class will meet 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays from Jan. 28 through March 4. There is a $295 fee.
Those wishing to register or obtain further information should call the ESF Office of Continuing Education at 470-6891.
