A Conservation Plan for Three Falls Woods, Manlius, New York Students enrolled in Senior Synthesis in Conservation Biology will present the results of their semester-long project that focused on the conservation of a 175-acre forest in Manlius. This forest, known locally as Three Falls Woods due to the presence of three seasonally-flowing waterfalls, is currently threatened by development. Working in support of a local grassroots organization, the class compiled comprehensive information about the site and developed recommendations for protecting and managing the area in the future. Adopt-a-Stream Stream surveys and clean-ups at various sites. Participants will survey the chemistry, macroinvertebrates, botany and physical stream measurements for Butternut Creek, Meadowbrook Creek and Chittenango Creek.
