I am a Master's candidate majoring in Fish and Wildlife Biology and Management at SUNY-ESF. My research interests are in the field of fisheries conservation, restoration and enhancement. I am currently working on a project with my graduate advisor Dr. John Farrell to study the effects of several restoration projects that have been implemented in the Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence River to increase connectivity and enhance wetland spawning habitat. In particular I am interested in the response of the near shore fish community to newly restored connectivity and enhanced spawning habitat for northern pike. Before I enrolled in graduate school at ESF, I earned my Bachelor's degree from Mansfield University in fisheries biology. In my professional experience I have worked with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection conducting fish index of biotic integrity surveys. In addition, I also worked as an aquatic technician for the Colorado Division of Wildlife assisting with non-native species control in the Yampa River basin and conducting Colorado River Cutthroat trout surveys in NW Colorado. In my leisure time I am an avid fly fisherman and fly tyer.
