Re: Glass Containers
The College has recently purchased a large number of 20 gallon plastic barrels to replace the disposable glass boxes that were previously used in all laboratories. We are in the process of issuing these containers. They will be labeled GLASS ONLY and we will provide a special plastic liner for them. The procedure to have a container emptied is as follows:
- When a barrel is half full it is the lab staff's responsibility to tie the plastic liner closed and notify the custodial person assigned to your area.
- Custodial staff will remove the sealed barrel and replace it with a new container.
Your cooperation and concern in handling the broken glass disposal will be greatly appreciated.
