Water Resources Engineering (WRE)
Environmental and Resource Engineering M.S. & Ph.D.

Pre- or Co-Requisite Courses

Most of these courses are typically not granted graduate credit. These courses are typically taken prior to enrolling in the graduate program, but there are cases when some are taken concurrently with your graduate degree.

Prerequisite courses include biologic science, calculus, chemistry, computer science [1 | 2 | 3 ], physics [1], probability and statistics [1], fluid mechanics [1], and engineering hydrology. | [Fluids at may be with ERE571 Fluid Mechanics fall, MAE 341 Fluid Mechanics fall, BEN333 Fluid Transport fall]

Number of Graduate Course Credits

Students must complete the following number of course credits, depending on the degree.
  • M.S. candidates
    • Departmental policy: at least 24 credits of graduate courses and at least 6 credits of thesis. At least 9 credits of courses within the department. At least 3 credits of courses from outside the department.
  • Ph.D. candidates
    • Departmental policy: at least 30 credits of graduate courses and a maximum of 30 credits for dissertation. At least 12 credits of courses within the department. At least 6 credits of courses from outside the department.
