River Classification Labs

Lab Assignments:

·             All lab reports must be meet the evaluation criteria (The quality of your work will be based on restating problem goal, presenting and referencing all pertinent data, application of appropriate computations, completeness, supporting material, organization, and correct answers.), be word processed, use memo format with headers and sub-headers (e.g., goal, method, results, conclusion) to clarify organization, include all pertinent data as attachments, with worked data in referenced and labeled figures and tables. These technical reports should emphasize brevity and precision. They must also discuss the significance of your answers and results (a few words or sentence).

·             Each lab is assigned at the completion of data capture for that task. For example, if it takes 2 classes to gather longitudinal profile data, the report is assigned at the end of the 2nd class.

·             Note, for the .txt files they are ASCII, and should be imported using Toolbox > Conversions > To Raster > ASCII to Grid

·             Note, for the .txt files, once imported, they should be projected using Toolbox > Data Management Tools > Projections > Define Projection > Coordinate System > Spatial Reference Properties > Select > Projected > UTM > NAD 1983 > Zone 18N.

·             Note, open your ArcMap session using a projected dataset to define the map space, and then your watershed and orthophotos will overlap.
