Fall 2007-
ESF Entrepreneurship Seminar Series
Entrepreneurship is an opportunity focused way of thinking and creating things that don’t exist today, not just the idea of starting your own business. ESF is leading the way in "Green Entrepreneurship." Come see how and why.
Seminar #1
Pat Conway, CEO of BioAxxis Development Corp., Liverpool, NY. Founded by Pat and his brother, BioAxxis is developing biometric-controlled security systems, initially in the door lock mechanism category. BioAxxis was a finalist in the 2007 Syracuse regional $100,000 business plan competition. Pat’s session covered the issues and challenges of starting a science-based company, developing products, and getting them to the target market.
Seminar #2
Chris Campbell, Program Manager of SourceSentinel LLC. SourceSentinel is a joint venture of O’Brien & Gere, Sensis Corp. and SUNY-ESF. Originally formed in 2003, its first focus was on water safety technology applied to public water facilities such as municipalities. The business strategy has since shifted, and Chris will discuss how they determined which opportunities to pursue as the market needs changed.
