I am an aquatic ecologist focused on research that contributes to the conservation and management of aquatic organisms and their habitats. I am particularly focused on flowing water (stream and river) resources.
Current research projects examine the effects of stream restoration structures on hyporheic macroinvertebrates and habitat use of lake sturgeon in the Seneca/Oswego rivers (Erie Canal).
I would be interested in working with undergraduates who would like to complete an independent project (for credit) on a topic of mutual interest. Contact me if interested.
I am seeking one or more MPS students to pursue stream conservation topics of mutual interest. My only requirement is that a focal topic be identified and independent research (literature, sociological, scientific) be completed by the student, including preparation and presentation of a final report. Potential projects include opportunities to collaborate with other ESF departments (for example, on policy- or engineering-related topics).
I do not have funding at present to support graduate students. I would be interested in working with academically strong MS students, who would be competitive for SUNY-ESF graduate student teaching assistant funds. Please contact me if interested.
