Talk is Cheap… Advice can be Priceless!
Seeking Alumni Mentors/Student Advisors
In order to help students with their academic programs and to help them get ready for a career, the ESF Alumni Association is actively seeking alumni willing to assist students. The actual format for this program is still being developed but it will be flexible to accommodate alumni and students and their particular circumstances. Advising could be over the phone, over the internet via e-mail, or in person.
What is firmly planned, however, is a listing of alumni who indicate a willingness to help advise students and an annual event on campus to bring students and alumni together for some dialogue on careers. Further, the Association is attempting to compile a list of alumni who could serve as guest speakers. Alumni have expertise in many areas of endeavor and this is a very valuable commodity to share with students. Alumni who have chosen nontraditional paths should definitely consider volunteering as well as those whose careers mirror their academic programs.
If the idea of being called upon to advise a student sounds appealing, please see the survey below. We are looking for alumni who can give a few hours or one day a year to help. Please fill in the survey below and return it to the ESF Alumni Office. Thank you.
