Conference Purpose
The Great Lakes Research Consortium's annual conference provides New York and Ontario's Great Lakes researchers, students, agencies and advocates with a forum to discuss current research, academic programs, science, and policy. The conference includes student research presentations, a poster session, a plenary session on environmental economics and the Great Lakes, a networking reception, a dinner banquet and an awards luncheon for best student presentations.
One student from each of the five sessions and the poster session will be selected for an award and a $100 cash prize in memory of Dr. Donald Rennie, former Vice President at the University of Buffalo and one of the founders of the GLRC. Awards are sponsored by New York Sea Grant.
The conference will be held in Baker Laboratory on the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and forestry campus. We will begin at 1:00pm, Friday, March 19 and end at 3:00pm, Saturday, March 20, 2010.
