2014 Annual Conference: October 17-18, 2014



The 2014 GLRC conference is tentatively scheduled for October 2014. We will post a call for papers/posters during the summer of 2014 and will notify all members when the call is posted.

Call for Student and Faculty Papers

The Annual Great Lakes Research Consortium Student-Faculty Conference call will be released during the summer 2014.

Proposed Sessions May Include

  • Social Science including Economics, Human Dimensions, Policy and Planning;
  • Limnology and Ecology including Fisheries, and Trophic Interactions;
  • Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology;
  • Environmental Engineering and Ecosystem Modeling

This year's plenary session is still under consideration. The plenary will start on Friday afternoon and will be followed by the poster reception and mixer. Oral presentations will start early on Saturday morning with the final sessions and categories being based on papers received. All students presenting at the conference will receive free registration, including all meals and the reception.

Abstract Submission

When requested, abstracts of your research or proposed research will be submitted by electronic mail as a word document to Files should be named with the presenter’s last name (smith.doc) and include:

  1. Title
  2. Authors (Include student’s advisor and any other contributors)
  3. Institution (Name of School)
  4. Address (Home Address, Street, City, State/Province, Zip)
  5. Email, Phone
  6. Session Preference (Chemistry, limnology Public Policy, etc.)
  7. Presentation Format (Oral or Poster)
  8. Abstract (not to exceed 250 words)

Registration will be available during the fall semester. The deadline for submission of abstracts has not been set. Notification of receipt will be made within 2 days after submission, and session placement will be available 2 weeks prior to the conference.
