It is advisable for students to take care of as much of this business as possible prior to arrival on campus. We hope this information is helpful as you plan for your smooth transition to ESF.
Syracuse University Housing: All students living in Syracuse University housing are provided with telephone, cable television, and ResNET services - no sign up necessary. You must, however, provide your own Touch Tone telephone, television, and personal computer to take advantage of each of these services. Each student living in University housing will be charged a Student Communications Fee each semester. Through this arrangement, you receive these services together at a significantly lower cost than if these services were subscribed to separately. If you wish to make long distance calls from your room, you will receive a personal billing number that you will use with PaeTec, the University's long distance provider. Calls made this way will be billed separately to each student. You also have the option to use toll free and calling cards to place long distance calls. Voice mail services will be available through the University's Telecommunications Department. For more information regarding telephone or cable television services, please contact the Telecommunications Department at 315-443-4730 or visit their website. For more information regarding ResNET, please contact Computing and Media Services at 315-443-2677 or visit their website.
Off-Campus Housing (from SU's Office of Orientation and Off-Campus Program Handbook):
