Name and Address Changes
U.S. immigration regulations require F and J students to report all address and name changes to the Coordinator of International Education within 10 days of the change. This includes changes in residence halls and apartments due to annual moves or participation in off-campus employment (e.g., CPT, OPT). The Coordinator of International Education will in turn update a student's SEVIS record with the new name or address in order to satisfy this Department of Homeland Security reporting requirement.

Please note that all of your immigration and identity documents should be consistent and display your name in the same manner. Accordingly, you may also have to request that your name be changed on your passport, social security card, driver’s license etc.
Change of Employer or Interruption of Employment While on OPT
F-1 students on OPT are required to report all changes of employment to the Office of International Education. This includes when students change employers, add employers, or terminate employment.
