Bruce E. Appel Scholarship
The Appel Osborne Landscape Architecture firm in Syracuse, NY created this scholarship in 2014 to honor Bruce E. Appel. Students enrolled in the LA program are eligible, with preference given to 3rd and 4th year students with strengths or engagement in site engineering (or related engineering aspects of Landscape Architecture).
James E. Glavin Scholarship
The James E. Glavin Scholarship was established in 2009 to honor James E. Glavin (1948). The scholarship is to be awarded to LA students to pursue their course of academic study and professional development
Gary Hamilton ’76 Memorial Scholarship
The Gary Hamilton ’76 Scholarship has been designated to assist students:
1. who demonstrate financial need,
2. are in an undergraduate planning or planning related program, and
3. are studying with either the Faculty of Landscape Architecture or the Faculty of Environmental Studies.
Landscape Architecture Advisory Council Scholarship
The Landscape Architecture Advisory Council Scholarship, first awarded in 2002, recognizes a promising incoming freshman.
LA Group Scholarship
The LA Group Scholarship was established in 2006 to recognize a landscape architecture student in the fourth or fifth year of undergraduate study
Saratoga Associates Scholarship
Established in 1988, the Saratoga Associates Scholarship will be awarded each year in the spring semester to a student or students with
1. Promising professional
2. Seniors in good academic standing
3. Financial need may be a consideration but not a dominant one
Vivian Ryan Sutton Scholarship
Established in 2003, the Vivian Ryan Sutton Scholarship honors the memory of Vivian Sutton. The scholarship assists female students in their sophomore or junior year of study in the Department of Landscape Architecture or the Department of Environmental Studies program and is based on academic merit and/or financial need.
Student Scholarships for Off Campus Study
George F. Earle Scholarship
The George F. Earle Scholarship was established in 2003 to honor Professor Emeritus Earle. This annual scholarship is awarded to the senior landscape architecture student who achieved the highest cumulative grade point average in four years of design studios. It is intended to provide assistance during the student’s 5th year Off Campus Program study.
Edmond C. Kagi ’53 Scholarship for Off-Campus Study
The Edmond C. Kagi ’53 Scholarship for Off-Campus Study was established in 2008 to support students in their 5th year of study.
Robert G. Reimann Scholarship
The Robert G. Reimann Scholarship was established in 2010 to honor Dean Emeritus Reimann who received his undergraduate degree from ESF in 1954. The awards are to assist undergraduate and graduate students to pursue academic study and professional development; especially with off-campus travel experiences
Walter Tarbox Memorial Scholarship
The Walter Tarbox Memorial Scholarship was established in 1981, by the Tarbox family and friends, in memory of Walter Tarbox who passed away during the fall of his 5th year of study. The scholarship is given to deserving BLA students during their off campus semester.
Aaron R. Vogel Scholarship for Land Protection
To honor Aaron’s love of learning, travel and land protection, the Aaron R. Vogel Scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students in the Department of Landscape Architecture who are pursuing studies that could lead them to work in land protection akin to his work at the 1000 Islands Land Trust.
George Albrecht/Brad Sears Fund
The Albrecht/Sears Fund provides support for the Department's annual lecture series and program support.
Landscape Architecture Fund
The Landscape Architecture Fund provides support for student travel, honors and recognitions, and other departmental events.
