The 6,000 ha Huntington Wildlife Forest was donated by Archer and Anna Huntington for the specific use of SUNY-ESF. Located in the Town of Newcomb, western Essex County and in the Town of Long Lake, eastern Hamilton County, New York, it lies near the geographic center of the Adirondack Park. The topography is mountainous and elevations range from 457 m to 823 m. Vegetation consists of northern hardwoods, mixed hardwood-conifer, and conifer.

Emerge conducted two flights over the forest in 1998. The first was during "leaf-off" conditions in April. The second flight captured the forest during the fall senescence (October 5, 1998). Both sets of imagery are false color NIR with 1 meter pixels, georeferenced to UTM Zone 18N, NAD83.

Mosaics of the images are available as georeferenced TIFF's from the Mapping Sciences Lab. Click here to see a map of the area with mosaic boundaries
