NERR is looking for four energetic, able students to assist with AV equipment set-up and operations at NERR 2009.
A NERR Student Audio Visual Assistant is someone who helps make the symposium run smoothly in exchange for a 50% reduction in your fee. What would you be asked to do? Unload equipment and items into the venue, set up the registration table with materials, packets, name tags, set up audio visual equipment in the session rooms, set up poster easels and posterboards for mounting posters, load presenter powerpoint presentations onto laptops and indicate when the session should end, and tear down the above items and load them back in the van for departure.
The Ideal Candidates: Can you set up a projector screen, laptop and LCD projector without assistance, including extension cord and power strip configuration? Can you load a PowerPoint presentation onto a desktop and activate it on slide show without assistance? Can you record attendance, provide participant packet with name tag and assist with payments with just a little oversight. Would you describe yourself as generally patient, actively interested in assisting others and committed to helping make the symposium a success. Anyone with a helpful spirit is welcome.
Registration fee reduction:
If you are chosen to be an Student AV Assistant, you will be able to attend NERR for a reduced registration fee of $67.50 (half of the full student conference registration fee).

Send an e-mail message stating your interest in the Student AV Assistant position to Maureen Wakefield, Conference Coordinator, at “mwakefield@esf.edu”. In the message, provide three good reasons why you are the ideal candidate.
Deadline for applications:
February 2, 2009. Maureen will announce the four students selected by Monday, February 9, 2009.
