Siuslaw Model Forest

The Siuslaw Model Forest is our newest addition to the Model Forest system. It is located in the Town of Cairo, directly off of County Route 23, just 10 miles from the Village of Windham and 20 minutes from the NYS Thruway. This is one of the most traversed pathways into the Catskill region and easily accessible to major metropolitan areas to our south and north and an ideal location for an expanded educational program consistent with WAC’s mission of sustaining the ecological and economic value of forest land. es in the Catskills and Hudson River Valley. The model forest is managed by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Greene County and part of the Agroforestry Center. The ARC features a 5,000 sqft educational facility with a classroom and exhibit area. Across the street from the educational facility is the 142 acre Siuslaw Model Forest.
