The 2009 New York State GIS Conference on Oct. 25-27, 2009 was held in Lake Placid.
As one 2009 NYS GIS exhibitor stated...
“Thanks (to you and the entire supporting cast) for your efforts in pulling together the conference. It was, as usual, a great event for us and I’m grateful for the opportunity to exhibit, present, and network with the many fine professionals in our industry.
I’ll look forward to seeing you in Saratoga Springs next year, if not before.”

For the first time ever, Platinum and Gold Sponsors of this year's NYS GIS Conference will be given the opportunity to stand center stage and impart their wisdom in a power-packed presentation of GIS knowledge, and tidbits of “Who knew you could do that with geospatial information?” in our newly launched “GIS Ablaze” Ignite Sessions. These 5-minute sessions will be held during lunch on Monday and attendees will have the opportunity to vote on a favorite. The winning Sponsor will earn an exclusive highlight of their session on the NYSGIS Conference website.
The goal of this new program is to provide entertaining presentations that impart new knowledge to conference attendees. For those not familiar with Ignite sessions, the rules are simple. These are 5-minute long PowerPoint presentations that require each slide be advanced automatically every 15 seconds. Slides are visually oriented with minimal text. The presenter must know their material or will miss their opportunity to comment on the slide as they rapidly advance. The sessions are a lot of fun and provide a high impact message for the attendees. We are genuinely excited to be offering the opportunity to our prime sponsors.
