Next Working Group Meeting - September, 2008

The Working Group plans to reconvene in September 2008, after review of the draft plan by the project sponsors, the Onondaga Lake Partnership. We will post the date, time, and location when it has been decided.

Photos from the July Working Group Meeting/Draft OCRP Completion Celebration coming soon.

The Onondaga Creek Working Group is a diverse group of people who live or work in the Onondaga Creek watershed. Members are from Syracuse, Nedrow, the Onondaga Nation, LaFayette, and Tully. Members generously volunteer time to attend meetings. The Working Group will meet monthly for the next two years. The meetings are open to the public.

The Working Group functions as an informal community-based group to produce recommendations for Onondaga Creek revitalization, based on technical information and public input. The Working Group will produce the conceptual revitalization plan, to be credible and acceptable to residents of the watershed.

Dr. Richard Smadon, Chair of the Faculty of Environmental Studies at SUNY ESF, chairs the Working Group. Other members of the OCRP project team are available to lend technical advice. The Onondaga Environmental Institute provides staff support.

The Working Group meets at 5:30pm on the first Wednesday of each month. For a meeting schedule, location and more information, please visit this page or join the Friends of Onondaga Creek Working Group email list.
