Transfer Student Fall 2015 Orientation Schedule

The schedule below is the Orientation schedule for new Transfer students.

Move-in for those living in Centennial Hall will take place on Thursday, August 27th from 12-5 p.m.

Parking permits will be issued throughout the weekend through SU's Parking and Transit Services but purchased must be completed online at

Friday, August 28th: Transfer students will be allowed to park in the Standart Parking Lot at Syracuse University on this day. See the map here.

8 - 9 a.m. Check-In for Orientation and Continental Breakfast provided: Gateway Center
8 - 9:30 a.m. Trailhead Meal Card Distribution: Gateway Center Concourse (please bring SU ID card or driver's license for verification)
9 - 9:15 a.m. Welcome to ESF: Gateway Center
9:15 - 10 a.m. Welcome from the Deans of ESF: Gateway Center
10 - 11 a.m. The Academic Experience: Gateway Center
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Small Group Meeting with OL Group and Lunch: Locations various
11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Trailhead Cafe Open
1 - 1:30 p.m. Introduction to Major: Department Meeting: Locations various
1:30 - 4:30 p.m. Schedule adjustments: Baker Lab Computer Clusters
5:30 - 7 p.m. ESF Welcome Barbecue: ESF Quad
6:30 p.m. ESF Athletics Pep Rally: ESF Quad (Rain location: Gateway Center)
9 p.m. - 12 a.m. ESF/SU Joint Event: OrangeBlast!: SU Quad/Archbold/Flannagan Gymnasium

Saturday, August 29th (Optional Events)

5 - 8 p.m. SU Event: "Citrus in the City": Experience Downtown Syracuse, Clinton Square! Buses depart from the Schine Student Center at 5 p.m.
8 p.m. The Second City Touring Company: Landmark Theatre. Buses depart immediately following back to campus.
9 p.m. - 1 a.m. ESF/SU Joint Event: Cuse Carnival: Hendricks Field

Sunday, August 30th (Optional Events)

12:30 - 2 p.m. Courtesy: Pass It On!: Gateway Center/Nifkin Lounge
2 p.m. ESF Closing Ceremonies: Gateway Center
3 p.m. Ice Cream Social Sponsored by the Alumni Office: Gateway Center Concourse
