Payment process for Noncredit courses and Audited courses

Non-credit and audited courses: If you are taking a course for no credit or auditing a course, payment is due to the Outreach Office in 221 Marshall Hall when you submit your registration form. You may pay by check (made payable to SUNY-ESF), VISA or MasterCard. Students who register for a credit course on an "audit" basis are charged full tuition for the course and receive a Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory audit grade. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions page for the difference between non-credit and a formal audit.

Senior Citizens Audit*: Seniors (age 60 or over) may audit* credit courses free of charge on a space available basis.

Student Teaching Vouchers: SUNY tuition vouchers for supervision of student teachers are accepted in payment of tuition.

*NOTE: SUNY Policy and NYS Education Law defines a course audit as not being enrolled and listed in the registers for a course, attending without credit, attending without formal recognition, and not being required to meet the requirements of the course. Therefore courses involving labs, field trips, password protected online learning systems (ex: Blackboard, online courses), or group based projects should only be taken for credit as formal recognition and participation is necessitated by the nature of the course structure.
