ERE 296 - Introduction to Green Entrepreneurship

Course Description:

This 3-credit course will introduce you to the challenges and goals of creating a start-up venture in environmental science or technology.  You will develop the ability to recognize trends in the marketplace and where commercial opportunities can be created.  Additional topic areas include the life cycle of a company, analysis of potential of sustainable ventures, critical success factors, and key start-up issues unique to science and technology firms.

As a "Green Entreprenuer" student you'll meet and present "live" in front of a panel of community leaders. The program also includes multimedia clips, videos, discussions, research, and creative team work.

Class Schedule:

8:00 am - 4:30 pm each day
Special Guest Speakers - Wednesday, 4:30 - 7:00 pm (dinner provided)

Course Fee:
Costs for this 3-credit course are as follows:

  • Rising high school seniors (full-time 12th grade student 2008-09): Course tuition for New York State residents is $628.70, but students with a cumulative high school average of B (80%) or higher will receive a $453.70 ESF in the High School scholarship resulting in a reduced tuition charge of $175.

On a space available basis:

  • Non-matriculated college students who are New York State residents: Cost for this 3-credit course is $628.70, however, due to special scholarships made available by ESF, your reduced tuition for the course is $314.35.
  • ESF matriculated students (full-time matriculated ESF students Fall 2008, including incoming first-year and transfer students): Tuition for this course will be included in your academic year 2008-09 tuition.
    Course fee payable upon registration: $175
    NOTE: Matriculated ESF students enrolled part-time Fall 2008 will be billed $628.70 for tuition and fees.
