J2J: Journey to Jobs Workforce Summit
Mission of the Summit and its Endorsed Activities: Shape and design a blueprint for a workforce development system that is inclusive, flexible and continuously stretching itself to meet the education and economic development goals of region.
We will do this by facilitating a partnership that meets the workforce needs of business, provides career opportunities for citizens and assures meaningful education and employment experiences for youth.
We will be guided by an approach to workforce development that:
- Recognizes economic development, education and training as regional partners and beneficiaries of a well working workforce development system;
- Articulates the strategy, means and performance goals necessary to move the region and its communities forward through the provision of services that meet existing and anticipated economic and workforce challenges and opportunities;
- Supports strategic activities which result in achieving a workforce system that provides high quality services to its business and job-seeking customers;
- Includes a regional focus that can result in the sharing of information and the provision of services across boundaries
