SUNY Conversations in the Disciplines:
The Feasibility of a NYS Energy Conservation/Global Warming Consortium

image esf logo with seal in blk and whtSUNY will host a consortium on September 19, 2003 on the ESF campus in the Alumni Lounge located in Marshall Hall. The event is called, "Conversation in the Disciplines Event: The Feasibility for a New York State Energy Conservation/Global Warming Consortium". Experts will explore hot topics that revolve around creating a consortium in NYS. Issues such as energy conservation, global gas reduction, climate change and atmosphere research will be actively debated in a forum with a variety of policy makers and researchers from the SUNY system.

Specific objectives of this consortium include:

8:30-9:30 am: Registration and poster sessions

9:30-10:00 am: Opening and welcoming remarks

10:00-11:20 am: Review of ongoing research activity (3 simultaneous sessions)

  1. Regional climate modeling and environmental affects
  2. Greenhouse gas reduction/energy conservation strategy research
  3. Energy policy research: alternatives, incentives & implementation

11:30-12:30 pm: Global warming/energy curriculum

12:30-1:30 pm: Lunch and poster sessions

3:00-4:00 pm: Keynote presentation by Donald Brown, Director of Pennsylvania Consortium
