Winter/Spring 2003
Grant Writing and Funding Sources for Brownfield Sites
Herkimer County Community College
April 23, 2003
8:30AM - 3:00PM
Robert McLaughlin College Center
Room: 282-283
This is the third brownfields workshop in the Winter/Spring 2003 series. We are purposely limiting attendance to enhance participant interaction so pre-registration is required. Additional sessions of this workshop will be held based on demand. Fee for each workshop in this series is $85.00 for private sector participants, $50.00 for government employees and $15.00 for students.
This workshop will familiarize participants with the basics of securing grant funding, which include: researching funding opportunities, identifying good funding matches for projects, becoming knowledgeable in the targeted funding program, cultivating relationships with funders, and getting guidance in building strong proposals for particular programs. Participants will also gain an understanding of how to assemble a well-written proposal package. In addition, the participants will get guidance on sources for technical assistance and programs specifically directed at brownfield remediation and redevelopment. As a bonus, workshop participants will be given the opportunity to write a grant following the completion of the workshop and have workshop leaders review the proposal and provide feedback on its quality and competitiveness. We encourage participants to bring information on specific projects to review during the roundtable discussion in the afternoon session.
