The Syracuse Center of Excellence is a vehicle to explore and expand renewable energy opportunities for your business. The Symposium provided background on existing research activities and funding programs, and outlined ways your organization can: reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources; become leaders in the emerging market for clean energy technology; create new markets and opportunities for farmers; help clean the air and water, and; keep energy dollars in New York State

The symposium featured federal, state, industry and academic speakers.

  • Keynote: Ron Hodge, GE Global Research, GE'sVision for Renewable Energy and a Cleaner World
  • Panel One: Legislation and Renewable Energy Incentives
    This session addressed federal and state experiences in implementing renewable energy incentives, e.g., RPS, RFS, tax credits, CRP, CREP, carbon technology, closed-loop biomass. Moderator: R. Handley, Council of NE Governors
