Who should attend? Ethanol producers, State and federal policy and decision-makers, forest owners, biomass producers, farmers, food processors, renewable, energy producers and consumers, loggers, wood harvesters, wood or agricultural scientists, economists and investors.

This second conference program will focus on strategies to bring bio-based fuels and other bio-products to market here in NYS.

Come join us to learn more about how this team has applied the "Biorefinery in New York" technology to effectively reverse job loss and economic decline in Upstate New York’s farm and forest communities.

Highlights of the conference program will include:

  • the social and political context for sustainability,
  • how to define sustainability and how to measure sustainability(carbon footprint),
  • how renewable fuels fit into the "sustainability picture", including carbon credits
  • real, large scale implementation of sustainable projects in our community.

"The program offered a nice mix of technology and commerical / business issues."

Last year's attendees commented on high quality of speakers, the variety of presentations with enough time to allow depth, a chance to network, order of how presenters progressed: why, who, how – bringing all sides together. Another appreciated the level of people’s enthusiasm for biorefinery, the technical information about the extraction of hemicellulose and fermentation to ethanol, process and technology presentations.
