Internship and Co-op Positions of PBE StudentsA strong employment program greatly enhances Paper Science Engineering education at ESF.
All PBE students are required to complete a 12-week summer internship. Many companies hire students having limited technical training for pre-internship positions early in their academic careers. A growing number of students are choosing the optional seven-month co-op which offers both in-depth experience as well as greater financial compensation.
By the time they graduate, most PBE students have spent two summers in the industry. Some spend three or even four summers, adding value to their immediate employability upon graduation.
In a typical year from 15 to 25 companies hold on-campus interviews for permanent jobs candidates and summer or co-op employees.
