Using MaintenanceDirect

Do not use the Web Request in emergency situations. If you have an emergency request such as no heat, no power or a major water leak, phone the Physical Plant main office at X6588 or University Police X6666.

Create an Account (Requester Identity)

  1. You will be asked for a password and may be asked for an account number. Contact Physical Plant at x6588 to get these before you start.
  2. Once you have the password and account number visit the login page.
  3. You will be asked for your e-mail address. Type in your @esf.edu address and click “Submit.”
  4. If this is your first time logging in you will asked for your last name. Enter your last name in the space provided and click “Submit.”
  5. Create a Requester Identity by giving your first name (required) and any other information you wish to provide. Click “Submit.” If it tells you that your name is already in use you should have gotten an e-mail with the subject line of “Welcome to MaintenanceDirect” telling you your login name and password. If you can’t find that information contact Physical Plant at x6588 to have your account reset.
  6. You will then be prompted to provide information related to your work request.
  7. If want e-mail notifications of the status of your requests you can go to the "Settings" tab and adjust the "email notification settings" (note that at present the "generic setting" gives you no email notifications related to your work requests).
  8. At the bottom of the page use the password you were provided and then click "submit."
  9. If you want to check on the status of your work requests use the “My Request” tab.
  10. If you have any questions about how to use the MaintenanceDirect system, check the manual (PDF).
