Dr. Robert Malmsheimer has been ESF’s Pre-law advisor since 1999. Before becoming ESF’s Pre-law Advisor, Dr. Malmsheimer attended Albany Law School and practiced law for six years. He also is an ESF alumnus, having graduated with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Degree in 1986 and a Ph.D. in 1999. As Dr. Malmsheimer points out, I know how to maximize ESF students’ law school enrollment opportunities because I’ve counseled scores of ESF students and alumni and talked with law school admission directors about our students and pre-law program. I’ve also been though the law school admission process myself, so I know how to help students make the transition from ESF to law school.
Dr. Malmsheimer also serves as an Professor of Forest Policy and Law in the Department of Forest and Natural Resources Management, and as the Coordinator of the Department of Environmental Studies’ Policy and Management Option. He also is the advisor to the ESF’s Environmental Law Society. More information about Dr. Malmsheimer’s teaching, research and outreach efforts are available at his website.
