The New York Natural Heritage Program

The New York Natural Heritage Program's (NYNHP) mission is to facilitate conservation of New York's biodiversity by providing comprehensive information and scientific expertise on rare species and natural ecosystems to resource managers and other conservation partners. As of 2012, ESF hosts the NYNHP. Heritage program scientists continue their work from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in Albany, but the program is administered by ESF. The NYNHP and the Roosevelt Wild Life Station are natural partners. The focus of the Roosevelt Wild Life Station on conservation of rare and endangered species fits with the goal of the Heritage Program and the analytical work being done at ESF.
