Alchemists Society: The Alchemists Chemistry Club gives students the chance to have fun with all aspects of chemistry, from conducting projects to visiting trade shows.

Alpha Phi Omega: A national co-ed service fraternity dedicated to developing leadership, promoting friendship, and providing service to humanity. Membership is open to all enrolled students at SU/SUNY ESF, and those especially interested in campus and community service are encouraged to join.

Alpha Xi Sigma: Established in 1914, Alpha Xi Sigma recognizes students who have excelled academically. To be eligible for membership, you must have completed one semester at ESF and maintain a GPA of 3.175. This group's focus is service to the college community.

Alumni Association: Since its incorporation in 1925, the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry Alumni Association has had one goal, to serve the needs of our alumni. The Alumni Association is responsible for the development and coordination of programs to attract the support and participation of our more than 16,000 alumni.

The American Fisheries Society: The American fisheries Society is dedicated to the preservation and conservation of aquatic resources, and to facilitating the information exchange between students, professionals, and the public regarding our knowledge of aquatic resources.

American Water Resources Association: The basic goals and objectives of the Salt City Chapter of the AWRA are to promote communication and interest in interdisciplinary water resources.

Baobab Society: Established in 1991, this active group unites environmentally-conscious students of historically underrepresented ethnic groups.

Bioethics Society: The ethical decisions of medicine, agriculture, science, and our environment are being made every day. Bob Marshall Club: Named for Adirondack educator and preservationist, Bob Marshall, this is an organization of students who are concerned about the future of natural wilderness areas, especially the Adirondack Mountains. This "outing club" enjoys numerous hiking and exploration trips.

Empire Forester: The basic goals of this organization are to collaborate with members of the student body in order to produce a publication (yearbook) which will reflect a year's worth of events and memories of the ESF community.

Forest Engineers Club: This club familiarizes members with current developments in forest engineering. The emphasis is on professional development and enhancing relationships among Forest Engineering students and faculty.

Franciscan Earth Corps: Franciscan Earth Corps is a program of St. Thomas More Catholic Campus Ministry at the Alibrandi Catholic Center. Aimed at those who care about the environment and their spirituality, it integrates Catholic faith, Franciscan ecospirituality, environmental justice, and environmental service activities. Open to all ESF undergraduate and graduate students. We engage in hands on conservation projects, field trips to local natural areas, training and education in environmental issues and ecospirituality, nature retreats, environmental leadership and advocacy, and environmental education with high school students. Graduate Student Association: GSA acts as the representative body of graduate students of SUNY-ESF. Its mission is to serve as an advocate for student sentiment and needs by advising and cooperating with the Administration and Faculty on all administrative, curricular, and instructional affairs that pertain to, or are concern of, the graduate students of the College.

Habitat for Humanity: The SU-ESF Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating poverty housing in the Syracuse community and, ultimately, the world. We work on construction projects locally each weekend. To find out more, check out our site!

Juggling Club: Established in 1982 Juggling Club had its start as a professional juggling troupe. Juggling club today has different goals such as improving realations within the University community through community service mainly teaching local youngsters, student, and even adults the art of juggling and other related preformance arts. Equipment is provided and everyone is welcome to join regardless of juggling ability or inability.

Knothole: The objectives of the Knothole shall be to allow students at the College to actively participate in the publication of a weekly college newspaper and to serve as a vehicle of communication for the entire campus community.

LAND/Scape Club: The LAND/Scape Club is an organization connected with the Department of Landscape Architecture. The club sponsors the Festival of Places and various guest lectures.

Lutheran Campus Ministry: ...an open community of worship, growth and support that includes students, faculty, staff, friends and family of the ESF and SU communities. It encourages questions, preferring to live in the grey of reflection than the black and white of unexamined certainty. Worship, study, discussion, play and service are central to the activities of Lutheran Campus Ministry. Members are active on projects throughout the Syracuse community, in advocacy for and friendship with people on the margins including the LGBT community, and the earth.

Motivating People for Peace: This organization works to unite students and community members in order to further beautify and improve campus, community life and the environment. In addition, the club is active in student body and community issues to create peace and harmony between campus and the community.

NYPIRG: The New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) is New York State's largest student-directed consumer, environmental and government reform organization. We are a nonpartisan, not-for-profit group established to effect policy reforms while training students and other New Yorkers to be advocates.

Papyrus Club: From the Latin word for "paper", this organization attracts students interested in paper science and related industries. Membership includes two national affiliations.

Peace CorpsESF/SU Campus Recruiting Office: Peace Corps Volunteers dedicate 27 months to providing practical assistance to over 70 countries worldwide. Program areas include education, health, agriculture, environment, business development, information technology, and community development.

Soccer Club: This club is one of ESF's newest club sports. Not only are club members able to compete with other area colleges, but they are able to further develop their soccer skills. The club participates in indoor leagues and outdoor competitions.

Society of American Foresters: SAF is a scientific, educational and professional organization which represents the forestry profession. The mission of SAF is to advance the science, education, technology, and the practice of forestry; to enhance the competency of its members; to establish professional excellence; and to use the knowledge, skills, and conservation ethic of the profession to ensure the continued health and use of forest ecosystems and the present and future availability of forest resources to benefit society.

Student Ambassadors: The ESF Student Ambassadors are a mostly volunteer group of students who assist the Undergraduate Admissions Office with a variety of things every day. The main duties of ESF Ambassadors are to give tours of campus to prospective students and their families every day, and help out with on-campus events like Open House, Transfer Days, and Accepted Student Receptions. These are students who show a great pride in SUNY-ESF and do a terrific job helping us attract new students to campus.

Student Construction Association: The Student Construction Association is an organization connected with the Department of Construction Management. The club's purpose is to promote construction education outside of the classroom, to network with construction industry professionals, and to gain practical and professional experience from skills gained in the classroom through speakers, field trips, and club projects.

Student Environmental Action Coalition: The purpose of SEAC is to increase environmental awareness through on- and off-campus education. The goal of environmental awareness is to understand the effects of our individual and collective actions on the global environment.

Syracuse Animal Rights Organization (SARO): SARO is a group of students, staff and community members from SU, ESF and the surrounding area formed in the winter of 2003 with the idea of extending compassion to all beings through public outreach and demonstration on an anti-oppression basis.

Undergraduate Student Association (USA): Also known as Student Council, this is the umbrella organization for all student groups on campus and primary sponsor of student social activities and programs. Founded in 1919, the USA serves as the representative voice and student government for the undergraduate student body. USA's purpose is to unite those who wish to promote the social, academic, cultural and professional interests of the student body. If you are an undergrad who paid the activity fee, you are already a member...come to the meetings! USA meets on Mondays at 5:30pm in the Alumni (Nifkin) Lounge, Marshall Hall.

University Christian Fellowship: The purpose of UCF is to promote the spiritual life of the students of ESF by providing opportunities for worship, fellowship, discipleship, and witness. Activities such as Bible studies, prayer and worship services, evangelism and social fellowship events accomplish this end.

Women's Caucus: The ESF Women's Caucus was formed in 1994 by a group of ESF students, staff, and faculty who wanted an opportunity to work and socialize with other women. The Caucus aims to raise consciousness about women's concerns, to work for change to improve the climate for women at ESF, and to create a community of students, staff, and faculty that is a respectful forum for our diverse ideas.

Woodsmen Team: This is the oldest student organization at ESF, created in 1912. The Forestry Club uses old-fashioned logging techniques as a sport and competes with other college teams at meets. These events include horizontal chop, axe throw, pole climb, as well as many more.
