Setting Up Dreamweaver to Connect with WebDAV
You must have Dreamweaver 8 or better! Older versions cannot handle SSL security (the "s" part of https://). You can upgrade to Dreamweaver 8 for $100. Get a pre-filled purchase order here: http://cns.esf.edu/adobe.htm. If you use Dreamweaver to create and edit webpages but do not manage a complete site, you may wish to keep using your current version of Dreamweaver but upload your files with another method (see Windows or Mac WebDAV pages)
New connection/configuration info
You must change how you specify the server you access to the following form:
https://wwwpublish.esf.edu,
https://cwwpublish.esf.edu or
https://campuspublish.esf.edu
Note the use of "https" instead of "http" and the addition of "publish" to each server's address (bold NOT needed).
If you manage several pages as a "site"...
- Select Site > Manage Sites, and then double-click your site in the list. The Site Definition dialog box appears.
- If the Basic tab is selected, click the Advanced tab.
- Click the Remote Info category, and then select WebDAV from the Access pop-up menu.
- Specify how Dreamweaver should connect to your WebDAV server. Your login info will be almost identical to ftp, but the URL field should begin with "https://"
- login should be in the form: esfadmin\username OR students\username, where username and password are the same as that fro esf.edu email (faculty & staff) or MyESF (students). Studetns who can't log in using MyESF credentials should try syr.edu email credentials, MyESF username with syr.edu password, or combinations of any username and password you happen to have.
If these instructions do not seem to apply to your version of Dreamweaver, you will find complete WebDAV connection information in your Dreamweaver manual or help files, or via the Dreamweaver support site.
