Setting Up GoLive CS2 to Connect with WebDAV

You must have GoLive CS2! Older versions cannot handle SSL security (the "s" part of https://). You can upgrade to CS2 for $32. Get a pre-filled purchase order here: http://cns.esf.edu/adobe.htm. If you use GoLive to create and edit webpages but do not manage a complete site, you may wish to keep using your current version of GoLive but upload your files with another method (see Windows or Mac WebDAV pages)

New connection/configuration info

You must change how you specify the server you access to the following form:

https://wwwpublish.esf.edu,
https://cwwpublish.esf.edu or
https://campuspublish.esf.edu

Note the use of "https" instead of "http" and the addition of "publish" to each server's address (bold NOT needed).

GoLive Mac Users

Unfortunately, there are some intractable issues with site management using GoLive for Mac and the new secure WebDAV. Contact the Web Coordinator if you have problems.

For GoLive sites...

  1. In the Site menu, first choose "Settings..." submenu.
  2. Click on "Publish Server."
  3. Make sure that "http" is selected in the "Protocol" dropdown menu.
  4. Type "wwwpublish.esf.edu" or "cwwpublish.esf.edu" in the "Server" field.
  5. Type "/foldername..." in the "Directory" field (might be multiple folders, e.g., "/efb/faculty"
  6. Add your username and password (same as it was for ftp)
  7. Click the "Advanced..." button and check the "SSL" checkbox.
