Using WebDAV with Mac OSX

New connection/configuration info

You must change how you specify the server you access to the following form:

https://wwwpublish.esf.edu,
https://cwwpublish.esf.edu or
https://campuspublish.esf.edu

Note the use of "https" instead of "http" and the addition of "publish" to each server's address (bold NOT needed).

NOTE: To connect directly to the web servers from a Mac, you must have or upgrade to Mac OSX version 10.4.x, or you must use another application like GoLive or Dreamweaver.

To connect directly using Mac OSX 10.4.x or 10.5.x

  1. From the "Go" menu on the desktop, choose "Connect to Server" (or just key command-k).
  2. Type in the full web address of the folder you wish to access, beginning with "https://" -- for example, https://wwwpublish.esf.edu/efb/faculty/ , where "/efb/faculty/" would be replaced by your folder string.
  3. When prompted, enter the domain (esfadmin or students), username and password.
  4. Click OK.

You should now see a window with icons for your folders and files. You may drag, drop, open, copy and/or delete just as you would with any other files and folders on your computer. Remember that the files in this window are live web files! If you wish to keep two copies -- a master on your computer and one on the web server -- you must drag-and-drop or otherwise copy the file to and from this window.
