Centennial Hall
Centennial Hall is a $38 million student housing project that is operated through the ESF College Foundation. The original building was completed in time for the Fall 2011 semester, and was named Centennial Hall in celebration of this milestone in the College’s history. In Fall 2014, Centennial Hall opened a 34,000 square foot, 84-bed expansion building based upon the success of the original construction.
Centennial Hall is an environmentally friendly “green” building that houses 549 ESF students in a combination of residence hall style rooms and student apartments. It is located on the western edge of the ESF campus on Oakland Street, just a short walk down the hill from Baker Laboratory.
The east wing of the four story building houses 280 to 300 incoming freshmen, who live in double or triple studio rooms with private baths. The west wing houses 116 upperclassmen in single-bedroom suites with private baths, and houses an additional 56 upperclassmen in 14 four-bedroom/two-bath apartments. The expansion houses 84 students in a combination of 4 bedroom apartments and 2 bedroom suites with a kitchen. Student lounges, study lounges, laundry facilities, enclosed bicycle storage and other common areas are also included. Two professional Resident Directors, ten Resident Assistants, office staff and building security staff assist in the management of the facility.
