ESF Hosts Semester-Opening Virtual Family Sessions
We are excited to announce the Spring 2021 semester-opening virtual engagement sessions. We look forward to meeting with ESF families and sharing information about trends, resources, and traditions at the College. These sessions will be held on Zoom, and we ask that you register in advance. The sessions will be recorded and posted to the ESF Parent Facebook page following the sessions. ESF Researchers to Perform Critical Water Quality Investigations on Cayuga Lake
The Cayuga Lake Watershed Network recently received support from the Fred L. Emerson Foundation and Seneca Meadows, Inc. to continue critical water quality monitoring in tributaries of the northern Cayuga Lake watershed. (1/7)
Dr. Hyatt Green to Speak on Predicting the Next Outbreak
Dr. Hyatt Green, assistant professor at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, will be the speaker for the Strathmore Speaker Series Jan. 14 via Zoom.
Green's novel approach to wastewater monitoring is currently being used as an early-warning system for the next major outbreak of COVID-19 in Onondaga County. (1/7)
Latest Issue of Unearthed Online
The newest issue of Unearthed is published and now online.
"Unearthed" is ESF's online literary and arts magazine. "Unearthed" publishes poems, nonfiction, fiction, photography, artwork, interviews, and critical engagements with the environment and art, from around the globe.

Maximum Climate Mitigation Potential from Natural Forest Regrowth Lower than Previously Reported
Using data from more than 1,500 sources, researchers concluded the maximum climate mitigation potential from natural forest regrowth is 11 percent lower than previously reported due to the use of overly high rates for the location of potential new forest. Distinguished Teacher Professor Russell Briggs is a co-author of the study recently published in Nature. (12/28)

ESF researchers are among the world's top 2% of scientists cited, according to a worldwide study conducted by Stanford University. (12/22)
ESF Soccer Team Helps with Food Recovery
Soccer team members from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) continued to make time to help their community in this most-unusual year. Team members volunteered with the Food Recovery Network, something they've been involved with since 2016. (12/16)
