Hikers looking for an opportunity to experience the peace and wonder of nature - without the overcrowding documented in a recent poll conducted by Sienna College - are encouraged to consider exploring trails maintained by the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF). The College's novel approach creates a community model that allows hikers to experience the Adirondacks, including trails that remain largely untrammeled by humans. (12/1)
The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) was recognized as a 2020 Economic Champion by CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity (CenterState CEO) during a recent virtual celebration.
Mark Teece, associate professor, Department of Chemistry was selected as the 2020 recipient of the ESF College Foundation Award for Exceptional Achievement in Teaching.
An archive of tracking the migratory patterns of birds and mammals in the Arctic and subarctic will allow scientists to share findings and collaborate on how animals respond to environmental changes throughout the region. News of the new Arctic Animal Movement Archive (AAMA) was recently published in Science with Dr. Jerrold Belant, Camp Fire Conservation Fund professor, as one of the paper's co-authors. (11/13)
ESF welcomed SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras to the Syracuse campus earlier this week. The Chancellor spent time with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) has again been recognized as a top performer in the 2020 Sustainable Campus Index. In addition to being named an Overall Top Performer, ESF achieved "top performer" status in the following categories: curriculum, public engagement, purchasing and research. (11/10)
